Natural Light Lifestyle Photography?
I prefer to take photographs outside without flash (or with very little flash), in natural surroundings. I'm happy to listen to your suggestions if you have a favourite place or we could use a park, garden or just get out in the countryside. If trees and grass aren't your thing we can of course go urban.
Do I have to pose and smile?
It depends on the type of shots you want. If we are doing a family shoot to celebrate grandad's 90th birthday a formal posed group may be more appropriate, at least for one or two shots. I do prefer to catch clients behaving naturally and candidly and these often make for more interesting photographs - especially for children.
What should I wear?
This is up to you but, as we are trying to capture you relaxed and natural, it is best to wear something you are comfortable in. Again it depends on the type of shoot and the look you are aiming for but if it is a group session try to have a theme. 'Sunday-best' is smart but is it the real you? Big logos will date your photographs but colour is good!
What if it rains?
Contending with the weather is part of being a British photographer - especially one that shoots mainly outdoors! But if you are game then so am I and we can get some great fun images using bright umbrellas, wellies and puddles. The only thing to bear in mind really is the age of your party. Some of the youngest children who are not up and running around may find it uncomfortable in the cold and damp and this could mean grumpy faces and harassed parents. If the weather is not suitable for your session we can always postpone it and reschedule when the forecast is better.
I'm having a baby!
Can I order prints from you?
My prices at the moment include high resolution images which I present in a private online album. These are digital negatives and are yours to do with as you wish. Therefore the price you see is the price you pay - no heavy sell. I am happy however to assist with printing and can quote you for anything from basic prints and canvas art through to books or birth announcements.
Do you shoot weddings?
Whilst I have taken photographs at one or two small weddings for friends, this is not an area I am looking to get into at the present time. Weddings are a lifetime event and deserve the attention of a specialist wedding photographer - especially if it is going to be a big 'do'. I am more than happy to take your engagement photos before the big event and can always point you in the direction of some local wedding photographers if need be.
I have another question...
If you have any further queries or would like to enquire about session availability please contact me through the contact form and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.
