As a small business social media is an absolute no-brainer. Like it or loathe it, being able to share your craft with others on a free platform such as Facebook or Twitter equals free advertising. Having your product then shared around is great and being able to interact with your clients or even people just interested in what you do is fabulous. But of course it is not for everyone.
As part of my terms and conditions it mentions that as the photographer I have the right to use any images on social media and my website. However, I want to make it clear that just because I have that right doesn’t mean I’m about to splash images of your baby or children everywhere over the net with out regard to your wishes. If you are not comfortable, and I do already have some clients who are not, you just need to say the word and I will put a clause on your contract saying I agree not to use your images. There are various levels that people have asked for before – some don’t want any images online at all, some are ok with them being used anonymously, some are ok with the website but not Facebook. I am more than happy to accommodate your wishes so if this is stopping you having your photo session please do let me know. Tx
